Operations Manager in Global Contract Manufacturing

Are you passionate about working with contract manufacturing and thrive in a dynamic and international environment with many stakeholders? Then you might be the new Operations Manager we are looking for to join our department, Global Contract Manufacturing Operations.


About the department
Global Contract Manufacturing is a part of Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply organization and responsible for all Novo Nordisk contract and license manufacturing of semi-finished and finished drug products to global markets. Our main office is in Bagsværd, Denmark. The primary role of Global Contract Manufacturing (GCM) Operations is to monitor, control and develop the production handled by Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and ensure delivery of products from the CMOs to our respective customers. Our CMOs are located all over the world.


In GCM Operations, you will join a department of 12 highly dedicated and talented colleagues. We are responsible for all operation towards our CMOs and sourcing products into Novo Nordisk according to the demand from our production sites and customers world-wide.


The position
As Operations Manager in GCM Operations, your overall objective is to ensure stable and reliable planning, production and release of products. This is done in close collaboration with our Quality, Logistics, Support and Strategic Sourcing departments. Your job as responsible for the CMO is to oversee the entire operation, improve collaboration, ensure sufficient capacities and priorities with all stakeholders and ensure handling of deviations, change requests, customer complaints and other important tasks are done timely, to ensure products can be released in a continuous flow. As Operations Manager you will have a wide range of stakeholders, both internally in Novo Nordisk and at our CMOs.


Additionally, you will participate in some of our reporting processes e.g. monthly forecast, performance analysis, reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and driving/participating in optimization projects. In this role, you will need good communication skills and a structured approach to the tasks at hand, in order to gain commitment from both internal and external stakeholders.
Our CMOs are located around the world why some travel activity is to be expected.

You are experienced in working in a pharmaceutical production environment (GMP) and have worked with outsourcing of production processes, preferably for several 5 years. Furthermore, you thrive with stakeholder management and being in contact with people across functions and professional backgrounds. 


Your preferably have experience with:
• Management of processes and projects within a GMP environment
• Outsourcing of production processes
• Handling and overseeing CMO
• Identifying gaps for Supply Chain optimization
• Quality Management and reporting
• Working in an international and dynamic organization 


You hold an academic degree within a relevant discipline, e.g. Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy or similar. You have a robust and independent personality and a positive and open mind-set, and you are good at building relationships and communicating across cultures. You enjoy working proactively in a dynamic environment, with many tasks to coordinate and execute on, changing priorities and strict deadlines. You have a strong quality mind-set and solid analytical skills. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
